Monday October 28, 2019 Literacy: We typically start our days with 'Daily Five'. We rotate daily through the following centres: read to self, read to someone, work on writing, reading response and word work. We have moved onto our fifth sacred teaching centre. We are independently reading and summarizing articles about each teaching as well as asking questions and making connections to the artifacts. We created poems using the 'Six Room Poetry' technique. We taught this technique to our Grade 2/3 buddies. We plan to use this journaling activity at Art School in April. We finished our read aloud book, I Am Malala and will be soon be starting the documentary, He Named Me Malala. Our next read aloud that we will start next week is Save Me a Seat Science: We are continuing to explore wetlands as well as plants that are native to Alberta and what First Nations people use them for.
